Nomads Sky - Update #06


With Update #06 3 different explosive props were added to the game. The explosive barrel just detonates with a random delay after being damaged enough. The tank thrusts away before exploding after it was damaged enough. The mine is triggered when something comes close and detonates after a 1-sec delay. Behind the scenes, the systems were implemented in a way that makes it easy to create all sorts of systems that have something to do with explosions or applying damage, like bullets, rockets, AI turrets and drones, different kinds of traps, etc.

Additionally, the player ship stats, collision damage, and health of asteroids received a balance pass. Nothing big but some small tweaks in the most important spots. For instance, repairing the ship is now faster and costs less, and the effect of damaged subsystems on their stats is less than before. A lot of the things implemented in this update are not visible right now but will make development easier and faster in the upcoming weeks!
