Nomads Sky - Update #01


Today I released the first update after the Godot Wild Jam ended. The update introduces a lot of bug fixes, a complete UI overhaul, balancing, input changes and a new delivery drone.



UI Overhaul


- I cleaned the "Circle UI" around the player, by moving a few things out of the way and removing others. 
- The inventory UI is completely new, looks better, and works with only 1 button now. Tapping X/DPad down cycles through the inventory and holding the button drops 1 unit. 
- The Subsystem UI was cleaned up a bit and redesigned in some parts.
- The repair system of the ship was reworked and got a new UI.
- A new indicator was added to the player UI to show the direction to the nearest delivery drone. 

-  The pickup and mining process and UI received an overhaul.

Major Bug Fixes


- The processor now works even if fuel or oxygen is empty. (bug from the game jam version).
- The survival timer is reset if the oxygen tank is refilled.



Balancing


- I changed the cargo system from tons to units. The numbers a way smaller now, and therefore dropping from inventory is easier and pickup/mining just gets all the resources at once. 
- The processor now uses a certain amount of promethium/ice, processes them for a certain amount of time and after that period a lot of fuel/oxygen is replenished. Previously the processor continuously removed resources from the cargo space and turned them into fuel/oxygen. (Harder to manage for the player and to get a feel for how much resources the processor needs)



Delivery Drone



- The construction of drones via the player was completely removed. Now there are drones scattered in space, and the player needs to pay fuel and cobalt to send a certain amount of painite. Sending needs some time and the player has to stay within a certain range.
